Wow... been gone a week...
I've never said I was good at keeping up with a blog! LOL I always have good intentions... but it just gets away from me! Anyway, still tolling along. Got a new iPhone app called Sworkit. It looks pretty good. Haven't actually tried it yet... but you choose your workout, your time that you want to work out and it tells you what exercises to do every 30 seconds... they have full body, upper body, lower body, core strength, stretching, back strength, yoga, and anything goes, which I assume is a combo of different exercises. I think I will like it alot... just have to start DOING it!! Also, am thinking of doing the Couch to 5K program again... now that it has cooled off a bit! I have an app for that too! lol
Tomorrow is Xander's birthday, and he wants Red Velvet Cake, but he wants me to make a glute
n free one, since I cannot eat regular cake! So, I found a recipe here: http://glutenfreeonashoestring.com/primp-my-red-velvet-cupcake/# and I am going to try to make it... without an oven... hopefully my toaster oven will work out for me!
Still working on getting into the carb cycling thing... I always do so well WHILE reading a health book... but once I am done with it, well, I am done with it!;) I AM going to do this though!!!

UGH - editing day...
Well, I didn't really eat well yesterday, AND I had a LARGE mocha java chiller from Sonic... I didn't drink all of it though, I stopped when I was full, so I guess that's good. We had an open house to go to last night, so we went to that, and afterwards, we decided to go to Whole Foods. I LOVE that store!! I could spend hours just wandering around looking at all the great stuff they have!
So, I spent too much, but I bought organic sweet potatoes($1.99 lb), white rice flour($1.69 lb), brown rice flour($1.99 lb), almond flour($5.99 lb), gluten-free baking flour($7.69 box), Raisin Almond Crunch gluten-free granola($4.00), and Xanthan Gum($11.99 whew!). Now I can do some gluten-free baking! AND I now have a list of what these things cost at Whole Foods, so I can shop around for cheaper prices!
Also, we made a decision to stop eating out except for special occasions! We are spending way too much money eating out! So, I need to start cooking more at home!
I found something last night that is going to make our chalkboard backdrop idea even easier!! Chalkboard FABRIC!!! Woot! I can't wait to get it!:)

1.6 lbs gone... even after the buffet!
So, my husband and I are photographers, and I am wanting to do a chalkboard backdrop, but not just any chalkboard backdrop, I have to make it insanely difficult! LOL So, we decided to take my ideas and go to Home Depot and see what we could come up with. We decided on our plan of action and the entire thing is going to be under $40!! Woot! We didn't buy the stuff yet, because the painting is kind of involved, and we don't want to lug around this big piece of board until we can find some time to paint it!
Anyway, we decided to go out to dinner, and I suggested Jason's Deli, because they have gluten-free bread and I am gluten-free. Well, as we were pulling into the parking lot, I had this brilliant idea to go to Golden Corral instead... so we decided to do that... mainly because I had not gotten enough protein yesterday, and I really felt it!
So, I MOSTLY ate protein last night, but I did have some corn, sweet potatoes, a Caesar salad with chicken, and a bit of dessert... I could have skipped the dessert, truthfully I could have skipped Golden Corral. About halfway through eating, for some stupid reason, I started thinking about the entire buffet concept, and how anybody could have had their fingers, hands, sneezes, whatever on my food... ick...
So, I think we are DONE with buffets! LOL
Anyway, I am down another 1.6 lbs, even though I had dessert and ate way too much last night!

Strike that, Reverse it...
So, remember what I said about doing the very low calorie diet... yeah, strike that, reverse it... I started reading this book this weekend called Choose to Lose: The 7-Day Carb Cycle Solution, by Chris Powell. I am halfway through the book and it just completely makes sense!! I really need to try to FINISH the book before I start, but I have the gist of it... I will post stuff here as I get the program started, which I want to do right away!!:)
So, according to the book(which, if you plan to do this program, you NEED to read the book!!) there are 4 rules:
So, according to the book(which, if you plan to do this program, you NEED to read the book!!) there are 4 rules:
- Eat more often
- Eat carbs
- Build muscle
- Move your muscles
Then he goes into having daily promises to yourself. There is a lot about integrity and making sure you keep your promises to yourself and others. Daily promises:
- Eat 5 meals daily
- Drink a gallon of water per day
- Do resistance shapers
- Do cardio shredders
I have not gotten to the exercise portion of the book yet lol so I am not really sure what those last 2 are yet!
He also talks about having SMART goals:
- Specific: I will get my weight under 130 pounds.
- Measurable: My starting weight was 217, but as of today I am 206. I will lose 76 pounds to get to 130 pounds.
- Attainable: walk 30-60 minutes every day or do the shapers and shredders every day
- Realistic: I will lose 2 pounds a week and make goal in 40 weeks
- Time-Sensitive: By April 3rd, 2013, I will be at my goal weight.

- Monday: Low Carb Day

So, Wednesday is my day off and the worst day for eating!! I'm a photographer, so I used Wednesday for most of my editing. And I eat while I edit. Yesterday, it was red hots, M&M's and Skittles. None of it tasted good but I kept eating it... why?? Force of habit.
So, I had all but decided that I was going to do the hCG diet again... because this weight is NOT coming off and I need to fit into a dress in about a month... I bought it a size too small, because that is all they had in stock, and I am in a wedding, so I HAVE to get into it!! lol
Anyway, after the brain cloud of thinking hCG was the answer, I did some more research... I don't know if it is true or not, but many people are saying homeopathic hCG doesn't actually DO anything. It causes a placebo effect that makes you THINK it is what is causing you to lose weight without being hungry. So, I've decided to go on a low calorie diet, and an insanely strict one at that... and also refill my Phentermine for another month and see if that helps with appetite.
This is what I am thinking:
Breakfast: 1 hard-boiled egg (78 calories), herbal tea without sugar
Lunch: 3.5 ounces lean protein(about 100 calories), some sort of healthy vegetable, probably salad, maybe cucumbers(15-20 calories), and an apple(85 calories), and water
Dinner:3.5 ounces lean protein(about 100 calories), some sort of healthy vegetable, probably salad, maybe cucumbers(15-20 calories), and an apple(85 calories), and water
Around 500 calories... I think I will start with this, and if I stall, I will add more in... or if I feel awful lol
Anyway, don't judge me, I have a LOT of weight to lose...
So, basically I am already off gluten, and with this I will detox from both sugar and carbs!! Wish me luck!!:)
Also, this shake from Dr. Oz looks good:

Step 3: Detox With Skinny Shakes
To flush fat from your body, you’ll need to release the toxins that are keeping you swollen with fat and fluid. To repair cellular damage from processed foods, make a Skinny Shake of pomegranate juice, strawberries and lemon. Pomegranates are anti-angiogenic and can reduce inflammation. Strawberries are anti-angiogenic and protect against oxidative stress. And lemon juice has vitamin C, natural antibacterial properties, can aid digestion, and helps reduce stress.
Skinny Shake
Ingredients
1 cup of ice
4 oz of pomegranate juice(75 calories)
1 cup frozen strawberries(77 calories)
Squeeze of lemon
Directions
Add all ingredients to a blender and enjoy. Add water to reach your desired consistency.
According to WebMD:
"Are Very Low-Calorie Diets Safe?
Very low-calorie diets are generally safe when used under proper medical supervision in people with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30. Use of VLCDs in people with a BMI of 27 to 30 should be reserved for those who have medicalcomplications resulting from their obesity.
VLCDs are not suitable for everyone. Doctors generally recommend them on a case-by-case basis and your doctor will decide whether or not such a diet is appropriate for you. VLCDs are not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and are not appropriate for children or adolescents except in specialized treatment programs. Due to the potential need for other medications for preexisting conditions, as well as the possibility of side effects, these types of diets may not be suitable for people over 50, either."
And this:
"To be healthy, we need a balance of foods from different food groups. It's quite difficult to get good nutrition in as few as 800 calories (even a dietitian would have trouble doing this), especially if one eats the same foods day after day.
Also, once you go off the diet, you will likely regain your weight unless you change your lifestyle and commit to healthy eating, regular physical activity, and an improved outlook about food. By sticking to a long-term commitment, you can prevent your weight from drifting back up the scale.
According to http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/, my weight being 207 and my height being 5'2", my BMI is 37.9!! HOLY CRAP!!! So, yeah, all things being said, a VLCD is probably going to work out just fine for me!! I want to get my BMI under 25!
Also, I need to make sure I take all my meds and vitamins!!
